Ever wondered what the National Championships looked like when men were men and bikes had no suspension? The British Mountain Bike Championships - first held in 1989 - have changed somewhat when compared to today's event and we've been digging through the archives to bring you the action and results from the previous twenty years of competition.
First up are some amazing videos thanks to Youtube. The first five parts are from the first ever National Championships held in 1989 in Aviemore, bought to you by LWT and Carlsberg from Aviemore and won by Mike Kloser from the USA.
