Do you know someone who has gone the extra mile to ensure children and young people are safeguarded within your club?  If so, then why not nominate them for the CPSU 2013 Safeguarding Stars awards . . .

Taking place for the second year running, the CPSU developed the awards to recognise the important role that welfare officers play across sport – ensuring safeguarding standards are not only maintained, but continually improved.

Every National Governing Body and County Sports Partnership across the country is given the opportunity to nominate. Here at British Cycling, we are keen to recognise the hard work and commitment that is seen in our welfare officers all year round, so we’re calling on as many people as possible to nominate that shining star in their club.

British Cycling will share the strongest entries with the CPSU. A panel of young people will then review the nominations and select a shortlist of six, who have demonstrated outstanding contributions to safeguarding in their club, organisation or sport.

These six nominees will be invited to attend the CPSU conference, From grass roots to elite sport – children and young people’s experiences, on 9 October 2013, where there will be a Safeguarding Stars awards presentation.

Click here to download a nomination form. Please provide specific examples that outline how the nominee has contributed to your club, and gone above and beyond their remit.

Completed forms should be emailed to the Go-Ride Team (go-ride@britishcycling.org.uk) by Friday 28th June 2013.

Good Luck!
