Bronze for Sutton Cyclists at London Youth Games
On the 3rd July British rider David Millar take 3rd place in the opening Time Trial of the Tour de France. On the same day, Sutton de Ver Cycles club members riding for the London Borough of Sutton took the Bronze medal in another Time Trial - the cycling event in the London Youth Games.
It is a team event, split into Juvenile (U16) and Junior (U18) teams. Conditions were good - sunny, but not too hot, with a light breeze - at the course in Crystal Palace Park, which happens to be our local road circuit venue.
Our Juvenile riders rode brilliantly, improving on last year's result to take a splendid 2nd place, gaining 46 points. The Juniors were 9th, with 34 points, giving the combined Sutton team 3rd place overall, with 80 points, after Hackney and Redbridge.
