Tour of Cotswolds 2013

Cycle Sportive , Shipston-On-Stour – Sunday, 21 Jul 2013

Event Summary

Event Overview

The sportive will offer 2 challenging but beautiful rides through the heart of England & Wales' largest area of outstanding natural beauty.

The sportive will start from Shipston on Stour and both the 80 mile (EPIC) and 50 mile(CHALLENGE) events will be comprehensively signed posted and full .gpx files will be available for riders to upload to their GPS units should they have them.

Both rides will flow from beautiful Cotswold village through rolling countryside lanes to the next beautiful village with some challenging climbs on the way - the 80 mile EPIC ride is a tough challenge and takes in the climbs of Blockley, Stanway, Campden Lane and, home to the 2010 National Hill Climb Championship, Dover's Hill.  The 50 mile CHALLENGE route takes in Blockley and Dover's Hill, with an option to add an extra 3 miles to your ride and take in the climb of Campden Lane should you choose

There will be well stocked feed stations with toilets and catering will be available at the HQ prior to the start and at the finish.

Mechanical support will be available at the HQ prior to the start for any last minute tweaks to equipment and riders will be able to purchase any essential items such as bottles, nutrition, tyres and tubes if required.

A 'broom wagon' will follow the ride and offer limited mechanical support at the roadside and will ensure all riders get back to the HQ should you incur a non-repairable mechanical.

Riders then return to the HQ, enjoy live coverage of the final stage of the 2013 Tour de France (who's got money on a 2nd British win?) whilst relaxing with a cold drink and sharing stories of the ride just completed with fellow riders.
