Info for Riders

Please make sure you turn up with a helmet, a working bike that is suitable for the trails and suitable clothing - gloves are good, no baggy trousers that could get caught in a chain.

*Please ensure that bar ends are fitted to all bikes. No bar end plugs in your handle bars means you won’t be allowed to ride fore safety of others and yourself*

The benefits of flat pedals for riders in early years are clear for all to see as has been noted in the recent Scottish Cycling Communications. At these young ages we want to see the kids in u8 and u10 enjoying being on their bikes and not worrying about equipment. Parklife races are very much grassroots events to encourage kids to give racing a go. Glasgow Riderz fully supports the current Scottish Cycling initiative to have all kids in u8 and u10 on flat pedals at all times including nationally and locally organised events.
