White sprints to Wally Gimber Trophy victory

For the first time in memory, Dulwich Paragon CC’s Wally Gimber Trophy came down to a bunch sprint which saw veteran Jason White show his younger rivals how to do it as he took the win.

The 81-mile race was generally kept in check by the Pedal Heaven-Colbornes RT and Richardsons-Trek RT teams with all attempts to make a break stick coming to nothing over the six laps of the Tenterden circuit, in Kent.

But both missed out in the final shake-up as 41-year-old White, from Benfleet in Essex, sprinted to victory ahead of Northampton-based Will Goulbourne, with Pedal Heaven pair Lewis Atkins and Jamie Pine completing the top four.

1 Jason White (Unattached)
2 Will Goulbourne (Team Corley Cycles)
3 Lewis Atkins (Pedal Heaven-Colbornes RT)
4 Jamie Pine (Pedal Heaves-Colbornes RT)
5 Jonathan Harris (GS Avanti)
