The 25-year-old Bristol rider’s smooth style masked his speed across the slick grassy sections as he raced to a clear win ahead of 15-year-old Matt Fratesi (Severn RC) who, on his mountain bike and starting a minute later with the youth field, powered his way through the seniors before getting the better of Peter Kench (Banjo Cycles) in a hard-fought tussle for second place overall.
