The Yorkshire Cyclo-Cross Association is running its annual 3-Peaks Training Day on Sunday 19 August 2012. The event is free to participate in and begins at the Helwith Bridge (near Settle) car-park which will be familiar to those who have ridden the 3-Peaks itself.

Typical 3-Peaks terrain

The ride will almost certainly feature eight-times winner of the race, Rob Jebb. From that fact you can expect a long and testing ride, suitable primarily for Cyclo-Cross bikes. Please bring clothing, drink, food and a map so that you are self-sufficient.

The ride usually takes place in the Buckden area, but this year switches to nearer to the 3-Peaks race. Organiser John Rawnsley told us that all riders will start together, but that after an hour or so of riding, the group will be spit into two, allowing those wanting a slightly slower, more even paced ride to continue with their own ride leader.

The start time is 10am and the car-park postcode is BD24 0EH.
