Event: 29 December 2011
Report: Snowdon Sports

Grant Ferguson secured victory in the Christmas cross at Callendar Park in Falkirk, organised by GJS Racing Team.

The 18-year-old Boardman Elite rider from Peebles gradually pulled away from the field in the event, which used a great new course at an outstanding new venue which will hopefully be included in next year’s Scottish Series.

He held off Scottish Series overall winner Gareth Montgomerie, the 29-year-old GT Racing rider who settled for second, while talented 16-year-old I-Cycles junior Stuart Wilcox took third, just ahead of top veteran Gary McRae (Leslie Bike Shop).

Results:

1 Grant Ferguson (Boardman Elite) 49:31
2 Gareth Montgomerie (GT Racing UK) @ 2:06
3 Stuart Wilcox (I Cycles) @ 2:46

5 David Lines (Endura Pedal Power)
6 Ben Greenwood (Rapha Condor Sharp)
7 Douglas Shearer (Innerleithen MTB Racing)
8 Paul McInally (Rock and Road Cycles)
9 Calum Foster (Leslie Bike Shop)
10 Steve Nicholson (Dunfermline CC)

Juniors: Stuart Wilcox. Over-40s: Gary McRae. Over-50s: Brendan Roe (Leslie Bike Shop).
