A brand-new Category A Cyclo-Cross event in South Yorkshire looks set to attract a host of top riders. The Doncaster Wheelers Supercross on 22 October not only features an excellent prize list in the region of £2000, it also looks set to boast some of the best facilities seen at a Cyclo-Cross event this season.
The venue HQ and changing facilities will be at the home of Doncaster Rovers, the stunning Keepnote Stadium. Close to the A1, which makes it extremely accessible, the stadium is the centrepiece of a sport and leisure complex which includes extensive car-parks and a range of attractively landscaped parkland, through with the races will run.
Course designer Phil Thackray said: "This venue has perhaps the best facilities I've ever seen at a ‘Cross event. The course also looks like it will be a cracker, with lots of scope to put together a classic ‘Cross challenge for the riders."
With separate races for Under-12, Youth, Vets & Women and Seniors & Juniors, there's a full programme of racing.
