Tell us about your commuting rig:
Kinesis Racelight TK2 Cherry Red Metallic and cream – just spoilt it by putting on mudguards and 25mm tyres. Not yet christened on commute as recovering from accident but hopefully soon!
What’s your commute like?
10 miles each way or thereabouts. Mostly draggy, flat, downhill on the way in and draggy and mostly uphill on the way home.
How many days a week do you commute by bike?
Hoping to start with one day a week at first then build up.
What do you enjoy the most about bike commuting?
The freedom and free fitness benefits it brings.
What’s your least favourite thing about commuting by bike?
Aggressive motorists, wind, rain and not being fit!
What are your main reasons to commute by bike?
Keeps me mentally alert and helps my fitness.
What’s your killer commuting tip?
Merino wool base layers are the best invention. Always try and anticipate and second guess drivers. They will sometimes do the unexpected.
How does your British Cycling membership support your bike commuting?
Recently been involved in an accident so currently going through British Cycling solicitors Leigh Day and Co. Hopefully will soon receive some compensation to put towards shiny new bike things. Wiggle discount obviously helps and I use CNP for recovery and nutrition as well so the 40% discount on that is very welcome.
