TT Hutch Reviews London Hire Bike

Multiple British TT champ Michael Hutchinson is perhaps not the most obvious choice to review London's new cycle hire bike, but review it he did, as evidenced on www.guardian.co.uk.
More used to ultralight carbon fibre bikes and a wind tunnel compliant riding position, Hutchinson found the bike rather portly, if substantial, pointing out that the Canadian built bikes have withstood 15 years of simulated urban abuse in the lab.
6000 of these chunky urban beasts are due to hit the streets of London in summer 2010, as part of Boris Johnson's dream of a 'cycling revolution' in the city. The bikes feature hub gears and brakes, built in lights, coat guards and a heavy duty basket.
