British Cycling member Adam's bike has got 'the biggest sunroof that money can buy' and he uses it to commute to work every day, rain or shine.

Name: Adam McManus

Workplace: Greggs (The Bakers) – office environment (not production facility)

"Came across some Buddhist monks having an early morning get together in a field."

A funny thing happened to Graham on the way to the office

Tell us about your commuting rig: 29er MTB, but converted to 700 x 38 Marathon Plus tyres (sick of the punctures!).

What’s your commute like? 7.5 miles, 50% rural, 35% cycle path and 15% road (but 100% fun). Plenty to look at and enjoy – a pleasure to do each day!

How many days a week do you commute by bike? Every day rain or shine.

What do you enjoy the most about bike commuting? Fresh air, bonus exercise, no radio and the biggest sun roof you can buy.

What’s your least favourite thing about commuting by bike? The one busy roundabout I can’t avoid. Queue for the shower at work - although it’s a good sign that more are biking in!

What are your main reasons to commute by bike? Keep fit, save money, good for the environment, enjoyable.

Have you got any funny or interesting bike commuting stories or experiences to share? Came across some Buddhist monks having an early morning get together in a field. Never seen them since that day and I still don’t know if I imagined them or not...

What’s your killer commuting tip? Don’t go the quickest route, search out cycling lanes – and explore more!

Are you a British Cycling Member? If so how does your British Cycling membership support your bike commuting? Access to route finders and the feeling you’re part of something.
