Track: SiS Take Track League Double

| have secured a track double after Barney Swinnerton and Adam Duggleby won the National Track Series Sprinters League and Hard Track Endurance League respectively.

Both of the series are year long competitions and are contested at the majority of the major tracks in the UK.

Swinnerton, who is only in his second year of racing, consistently finished in the top five in all rounds bar one and amassed a massive 117 points to take him 15 points clear of the second place rider. Entering the final round at Dundee last weekend he only needed to finish top six to secure the win. He qualified first with 12.9 seconds beating National Kilometre TT champion Bruce Croall.

Adam Duggleby had a harder challenge, only competing in three of the rounds up to the Dundee meeting meant he was 10 points behind Chris Bush VC St Raphael. This meant that to secure the win he would have to finish more than two places ahead of Chris, no small task. During the Dundee meeting the rain was looking threatening from the start with the odd shower coming down almost every half an hour. The organiser was going to use a 30 lap Points race as the National Series but due to the weather forecast ran the earlier 5 mile Scratch Race as the series event.

Duggleby was attacking from the start and managed to get away from the field with Junior Mark Stewart very early on. The pair kept a half lap gap from the field for the whole race and Duggleby took the win. The bunch sprint was to decide the overall series and Chris Bush came in seventh meaning Duggleby would finish clear winner of the series by 20 points.

The pair will now be look forward to the National Track Championships at Manchester at the end of September.
