Sportive organisers Wheels in Wheels Events Ltd are pleased to announce that all the proceeds from the MAGPAS Cambridge Cycle Challenge Sportive on Sunday 19 May will go to the Magpas Air Ambulance charity based in Cambridgeshire thanks to sponsorship from Lancaster Toyota Cambridge.

This new sportive in Cambridgeshire will benefit not only those taking part with quiet country lanes and villages east of Cambridge, beautiful scenery and a testing day out but also the Air Ambulance charity Magpas. Sponsorship from local Toyota dealers Lancaster ensures all proceeds from the event will go straight to the charity making this one of the few sportives in the UK where all entry fees actually go to a charity.

The event is based at the Lancaster Toyota showrooms in Coldhams Lane, Cambridge where both routes head out in an anti-clockwise direction through Linton and Saffron Walden to the first feedstop. From here the 65 mile route takes in Balsham and Wickhambrook before returning to Cambridge while the 100 mile route goes on to Mildenhall via Kedington and Stradishall with another feedstop before making its way back to the finish. Both courses are relatively flat but have several short sharp climbs but the biggest challenge of the day is likely to be the wind making for either a quick or tough day out.

There will also be a Family Ride of 8-10 miles later in the morning to allow everyone to join in and help raise money for the Magpas charity. This will start at 11.00 and will also be fully signed, mainly following existing cycle routes in and around Cambridge.

Both routes will be fully signposted; timed, have well stocked feed stations on each course, full mechanical back en route as well as the start/finish (courtesy of Ben Hayward Cycles of Horningsea) and a broom wagon should your bike fail. Free tea and coffee will be available before the start as well as a snack after for all finishers.
