There is just over a week to go until  the QE Cycle Fest near Petersfield in Hampshire.  The event comprises of on Saturday morning as well as the four hour mountain bike enduro on Saturday evening.

Now that the closing date for entries is approaching a 20% discount is being offered on all entries received online before midnight on Friday 18 May. All proceeds from the weekend’s events are being donated to Cancer Research – part of the Hargroves Cycles pledge to raise £10,000 for the charity.

Queen Elizabeth Country Park is set in the heart of the Meon Valley and provides a challenging whilst picturesque backdrop for either a 60 or 80km loop. The 80km loop will see riders climb a total of just over 1100 metres taking in the aptly named ‘Little Switzerland’ and the stunning views out over the Isle of Wight from 'Old Winchester Hill'.

Further on riders will take in picture postcard scenery riding through villages such as South Harting, East Meon and Rogate. The route comes to an end with a testing climb up through Chalton Village passing the Butser Ancient Farm and Windmill. There will be a number of feed stations along the route and a number of the villages provide good rest points with shops and pubs for those looking to take things at a more leisurely pace.

The MBUK Royal Rumble takes place on the challenging terrain of Queen Elizabeth Country Park. The four hour event starting in daylight and ends at 10pm - lights are compulsory for dusk laps onwards.

The course will be a mixture of fast flowing singletrack, open bridleways and includes some tough climbs and fast descents.

Entry is available for both online on British Cycling's Event Calendar.
