Entries for the 2012 Wiggle Wild Edric are now live! Event details are already online at
The 4th edition of this event will take place on Sunday 20th May 2012 from the Sparc Centre in Bishop’s Castle, Shropshire. The route will offer riders some of the finest views of Shropshire and the Welsh Marches. With two routes offered (100 miles or 60 miles), cyclists will be able to revel in the stunning views from the top of Long Mynd and Long Mountain. Riders on the longer route will get the extra bonus of viewing the patchwork fields from the peak of Kerri Hill.
Although non-competitive, the steep inclines and sweeping descents mean that the Wiggle Wild Edric is known for giving each and every rider an opportunity to demonstrate both their physical and mental strengths. The choice of distances ensures that cyclists of different abilities can enter and join in!
Title sponsor for the event is online bike, swim, triathlon and cycle retailer Wiggle – recently voted Bike Biz’s Online Retailer of the Year for the third consecutive year.
The ride also helps to raise awareness of and creates sponsorship opportunities for our 2012 charity partner, Cancer Research UK. They are recognised as the World’s leading cancer charity.
Simon Thomson, Event Director of the 2012 Wiggle Wild Edric, is certainly looking forward to hosting what has become one of the most popular events in the sportive calendar:
“We are expecting around 1500 riders to come and join us so we’re completely buzzing at the prospect of this event! It’s always jam-packed with happy cyclists that have managed to get their entry in before the event has filled up. Plus the fantastic atmosphere really gives riders that extra oomph!”
