Herety and Jones Preview Prostate Cancer Tour Ride
Posted: 23rd July 2010
Cycling legends John Herety, Manager of the Rapha Condor Sharp cycling team, and Graham Jones, Tour of Britain Route Director and cycling commentator, got back in the saddle recently for the first time in 20 years to show their commitment to The Prostate Cancer Charity Tour Rides. Graham's father sadly died of the disease last November.
Herety and Jones tested out the 175km South West ride ahead of the sportive in September. The two friends last cycled together as professional riders more than two decades ago but recently took to their bikes together again in a bid to encourage keen cyclists to take part in the Charity ride, which Jones designed.
The Prostate Cancer Charity, in partnership with The Tour of Britain, is staging events at three locations across the UK, which offer cyclists the opportunity to ride a stage of the official route. There are distances to suit all cycling abilities, whether people want to go the full sportive distance, take on a challenge event of around 70km or a shorter family ride.
