A new series of circuit racing for all categories has made a promising start at the Blyton Park Driving Centre, near Gainsborough, Lincolnshire. The weekly events on Tuesdays attract points towards an overall series league and regular events on Saturday evenings are for League points as well as British Cycling ranking points.
With the Tuesday evening events being handicapped and league points available every lap the racing has proven to be hard fought for the experienced rider whilst also allowing for newer riders to give it a go.
The series has been put together by the same organising team that run the Friday Night Track League in Scunthorpe, with the usual refreshment team and a never ending supply of cake and hot drinks! With the opening of the motor circuit in May 2011 the team felt that it would be an ideal opportunity to increase the number of racing opportunities in North Lincolnshire. The circuit has been newly created by the owners on and old Airfield http://www.blytonpark.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/blyton.jpg and is a flat 1.6 mile tarmac circuit designed for car track day and sprint use, it is narrower than many other motor circuits but with no kerbs and solid run offs it is a great place for a cycle race. Entry is available on the day.
The format of the races are as follows:
Tuesday Handicap races

7.30pm - E/1/2/3/4/W 1hr + 5 laps
