Northants CRA Late Spring Handicap Series
Location: Great Gidding, Northamptonshire
Event: 28 April 2012
Report: Snowdon Sports

Competing in his first road race for 22 years, John Ellis (Welland Valley CC) turned back the clock to dominate the third round of the Northants CRA Late Spring Handicap Series over three wet and windswept laps of the exposed 10-mile Great Gidding - Sawtry circuit.

Given a favourable mark, 40-year-old Ellis showed that he had lost little with the passing time as he rode clear of the other longmarkers on the opening lap and continued to pull away to finish with an advantage of over two minutes.

Kev Hardwick (45 Road Club) and junior Joel Lewis (Kettering CC) led home the rest of a bedraggled and spread out field in second and third places.

Results:

1 John Ellis (Welland Valley CC) 1-24-18
