Essex based PCH UK Racing Team has outlined its ambitions for 2012 season after narrowly missing out on the Eastern Road Race League team title last year.

Steve Griffith, part of the eight man line-up in the last campaign, was crowned the outright winner of the rider competition and credited his teammates in his victory.

“We were unlucky in the team competition, we only missed out by 42 points overall which wasn’t bad when you consider that we were riding against much bigger teams. Add to that a couple of our riders didn’t race as much as they wanted, Wayne Maguire was particularly unlucky with back problems, so that goal was really within our grasp.

“I wasn’t thinking about the overall for myself but by the middle of the year I was leading the Eastern Road Race Leagueand so the guys started working more around making sure I was finishing ahead of my main rivals and so kept getting the points in. So my overall win was still very much a team effort”.

The team are now preparing for the 2012 season with additions expected as well as hopes to build on 2011’s achievements. “Plans are still being finalised for 2012 but a few new faces will be seen and the team are hoping to move up to some bigger races and probably a few Premier Calendar rounds as well,” a team statement read.
