London Criterium Championships

Story posted August 4th; Event: Hillingdon Cycle Circuit 4th September

London senior riders are invited to enter the London Criterium Championship to be held at the Hillingdon circuit on Saturday, 4 September by British Cycling West Thames Promotions, organiser of most racing at this popular venue which now features a new clubroom.

Riders from outside London are not excluded as the championship will be held within the fully open race already scheduled for that meeting which includes events for 4th cat riders and all youth categories. The latter will be non-championship as the top London youth riders will be competing in the UK School Games in Newcastle that weekend.

London Criterium Championships will be awarded for women and juniors if at least six riders enter in each category. Placings will be sorted from the photo finish. The qualification for the London Championship is that the rider has a licence showing the address to be in a London borough.

Although all entries will be on the day at £10, London riders must register their interest beforehand to the organiser e-mail stuart.benstead@mac.com so that they can be allocated a distinctive race number. In addition to championship medals, there will be prizes for both the championship and the overall race appropriate to the occasion.

The programme is:

13.00 Youth events – 30 minutes
13.45 Non-championship 4th cat race - 1 hour
15.00 London Championship E/1/2/3 – 60km

See www.hillingdoncyclecircuit.org.uk for information on the venue and its full programme of events.
