Clive Efford, MP for Eltham and Shadow Minister for Sport visited British Cycling on Monday for a tour of the National Cycling Centre, meeting the world championship winning women's team pursuit squad of Laura Trott, Dani King, Joanna Rowsell and Wendy Houvenaghel.

Efford also met with CEO Ian Drake discussing the continued growth of British Cycling and left delighted to have met with several Olympic hopefuls.

“I am grateful to British Cycling for taking the time to show me the excellent facilities at the National Cycling Centre.

"I was delighted to have the opportunity to talk with the GB Women’s Pursuit Team and watch them train in preparation for the games. They are an amazing group of athletes and I am sure they will make us proud this summer.

"I wish all of team GB’s cyclists the best of luck at the Olympics & Paralympics and look forward to watching our cyclists excel in all disciplines.”
