A provisional calendar of events has been released by the Yorkshire Cyclo-Cross Association for their ever-popular summer Cyclo-Cross series. Series co-ordinator Fred Rothwell has assembled a nine event series, running from early May through to August.

Summer Cyclo-Cross - a great way to spend a sunny evening!

The events all follow the same format, running on Wednesday evenings, with an under-14 race at 7pm and an over-14 race at 7.30 - the latter being open to all categories, including Juniors, Seniors, Women and Veterans.

Opening the series is a visit to the challenging course at Oakbank School, on the outskirts of Keighley. With its multi-layered playing fields, linked together by steep bankings and a couple of short, wooded sections, it's a classic 'Cross course. And this is typical of much of the series, which has a heavy school-based focus.

With a couple of venues still to be confirmed, it's time to get the dates in your diary.
