EC-CA & Writtle College Centre for Exercise and Health Cyclo-Cross Coaching Conference 2011

The Eastern Cyclo-Cross Association and Writtle College have firmed up the programme and list of speakers for their Cyclo-Cross Coaching Conference on Saturday 13th August.

The lineup is:

9.00 Registration, tea and coffee
9.30 Introduction and welcome of delegates - Mark Wyer (Chair EC-CA) - chair of session
9.40 Charlie Evans and Andrew Gillot (British Cycling Coach Education) - Developments in Cyclo-Cross Coach Education.
10.20 John Sneed - Effect of technique on stair climbing with a cyclo-cross bike.
10.40 Ryan Lateward - Using a power meter to collect cyclo-cross race data
11.00 Mark Walker - Modelling power distribution in amateur and professional cyclo-cross racing
11.40 Break for refreshments
12.00 Robert Kane - The use of video capture techniques in coaching skills development - potential uses in cyclo-cross
12.30 Ed Woods - Nutritional strategies for cyclo-cross
1.00 Lunch and networking
2.00 Practical session 1: Stuart Bowers, GB squad mechanic - bike set-up
3.00 Practical session 2: Martin Eadon - Practical skills training session for both riders and coaches, how to teach cyclo-cross practical skills
4.30 Close

Delegates are invited to bring their own bikes in to take part in the practical skills training session led by hugely experienced and respected coach Martin Eadon.

Who is the event for?

Coaches and riders who want to learn about some of the latest developments and research in cyclo-cross.

How to book

The event costs £25 and includes lunch and refreshments. Bookings can be made by downloading a form from www.easterncross.org.uk and posting back with a cheque made out to the Eastern Cyclo-Cross Association.

Please be aware that this event requires a minimum of 35 delegates to run.
