While our riders were topping the medal table at the 2023 UCI Cycling World Championships in Scotland, British Cycling had further cause for celebration thanks to the support of Coral Eyewear, Skoda and Wattbike.

Following the announcement of travel specialists Sportive Breaks and Destination Sport Travel as a new commercial partner in April, Coral Eyewear is the latest brand to be announced as an official supplier to the Great Britain Cycling Team on a multi-year agreement.

Added to this, through the championships British Cycling teamed up with existing partner Skoda and indoor bike trainer manufacturer Wattbike. Through the activations we gave cycling fans a daily chance to win a Wattbike Atom, while our collaboration with Skoda took followers behind the scenes with our riders and coaches at the event.

The inaugural UCI Cycling World Championships saw sold-out crowds in venues across Scotland and a global TV audience, who witnessed British riders blaze to a total of 100 medals across the 13 world championship events.

British Cycling Commercial Director, Darren Henry, said:

“Growing our network of commercial partners and suppliers has been a long-held ambition of British Cycling, and I’m really pleased that we’ve been able to harness the profile and excitement around the UCI Cycling World Championships to kickstart our relationship with Coral Eyewear.

“The partnership will benefit our British Cycling members, through exclusive offers and discounts, and our Great Britain Cycling Team riders, who will be proudly displaying the new kit at events across the world in the months ahead. Our work with Coral, Skoda and Wattbike during the championships once again demonstrates our commitment to providing best-in-class support and experiences for our members and riders, and growing our commercial portfolio to enable us to reinvest in the grassroots of the sport.”

Established in 2019, Coral Eyewear is a British brand, creating sustainable glasses and sunglasses with ECONYL regenerated nylon - a recycled material composed of fishing nets from the sea, recovered carpet waste and plastic out of landfill. Through the partnership, British Cycling members receive a 20% discount on all orders.

Co-founder of Coral Eyewear, George Bailey, said:

“We’re incredibly excited to be partnering with British Cycling. Our shared commitment to sustainability and performance makes this a perfect match. Through supplying some of the country’s best young athletes with sustainable eyewear and working together with the organisation to promote the importance of eco-friendly practices in sport, I believe we can help create real impact within the cycling and eyewear industries.”
