Following this week’s update to the UK government’s Covid-19 regulations and guidance in England, British Cycling is offering the following advice to people involved in organised cycling activity.
In England, you are now legally mandated to wear face masks in most indoor public venues with exceptions where it is not practical, including while exercising.
This means that if you are involved in organised cycling activity in England, we are recommending the following for indoor events and activities:
- Participants: When you are cycling, you do not have to wear a mask. When you are not cycling and especially when you are walking around a venue or facility, please wear a mask.
- Organisers, coaches, officials, and others involved in the delivery of an event or activity: Please wear a mask at all times.
For other organised cycling activity, if you are required to be indoors for pre-race briefing, changing, etc, please wear a mask.
As with previous Covid-19 restrictions, we will update and revise our guidance as we receive more information.
