This year’s young volunteer workshop will look at how to use social media within your club, while also providing an opportunity to meet with other young volunteers from across the region. Get up-to-date with the latest opportunities to get involved in cycling.
If you haven’t attended in previous years, the current young volunteer workshop is aimed at those who have already completed the Cycling Award for Young Volunteers course and are now looking to progress on their volunteering journey.
Club marketing
The morning session will take an interactive approach to ensuring that your club is providing exceptional service to members, encouraging you to think like a new member to make sure your club makes a great first impression.
The workshop will outline the basics of marketing and highlight the benefits of social media. Pick up top tips to maximise channels such as Facebook and Twitter and explore all of the creative things you can do using just a smartphone.
Getting active in your club
The afternoon session will bring together new and current young volunteers, providing you with the chance to get to know like-minded people in your area and learn about the role of a Youth Representative. The workshop will also explore the additional development opportunities that the programme can provide, such as the National Youth Forum and involvement in programmes such as the School Games.
