British Cycling can today confirm the dates and venues for the 2023 cycle speedway calendar.
This year’s British Club Championships will take place in Birmingham over the weekend of 17-18 June, while the British Individual Championships will take place in Hull, Sheffield and Astley and Tyldesley over the August Bank Holiday weekend (26-28 August).
The Men’s Battle of Britain will take place in East Newport on 4 June, while the women’s series will consist of four rounds across the country.
The Cycle Speedway World Championships in Australia – which were originally due to take place in December 2022 – will take place this year from 14 November - 3 December.
Mike Hack, Chair of British Cycling’s Cycle Speedway Commission, said:
“The Commission reviewed participation levels in last year’s national competitions, and has revised the programme for 2023 to match the demand of clubs and riders, based on 2022 levels. We are pleased that the venues are spread across the country and we thank the staging clubs and their officials and volunteers for agreeing to host national events. Good luck to all competing riders and teams – we hope that you enjoy this year’s programme of national events.”
