Laurie Greenland stormed to his first British National Downhill Series win in Round 3 at Llangollen, Wales, while junior riders Jordan Williams and Phoebe Gale continued to dominate the series with some of the fastest performances of the day.

Rain and fog made for challenging conditions on the steepest track in the UK, but that didn’t stop 310 riders taking to the start line on Sunday.

The juniors were first to take to the track, with the 13-14 men heading out. Stan Nisbet took top honours by just over five seconds ahead of Felix Griffiths, and Noah Killeen followed in third.

The 15-16 men saw George Madley took the win, showing the rest of the field a clean set of heals with a three-second gap back to second placed Morgan Williams, who narrowly beat out Rudi Eichhorn.

But the junior men's event was the standout field of the day, with a stunning run from Jordan Williams that would have seen him place second in the elite field, being only one of two to break the two-minute barrier. William Brodie took second place, followed by Joshua Brazier in third.

In the female 13-16 field, Heather Wilson took a commanding race win with a gap of six and a half seconds back to Jessica Wipat and Molly Ruskin following up in third place.

The two junior World Cup riders Phoebe Gale and Aimi Kenyon once again dominated the female junior race. Gale took the win as well as taking the fastest time of any female rider of the weekend with a time of 2:19 - a full second faster than the female elite winner. Kenyon took second place, with Bethany McCully rounding out the top three.

Stacey Fisher won the female elite race to make it her second win of the three rounds so far and maintain her overall lead. KJ Sharp managed to stay on her bike and finish up in second place, with Becky Skelton completing the podium.

Laurie Greenland took his first ever win in the British National Series in the men’s elite race. Greenland was also the only other man to drop below the two-minute barrier, and the fastest man of the weekend, while Charlie Hatton finished in second just five tenths of a second behind. Last year's National Series winner Roger Vieira rounded out the podium in third.

It was a fantastic weekend of riding and racing from all the competitors on what was one of the toughest tracks that will be raced this year, with the largest crowd seen at this year’s Series.
