British Cycling is now accepting applications for new members of its BMX Freestyle Park commission, which provides expert help, support and advice to the Board and senior management, and plays a fundamental role in shaping the long-term future of the sport.

The organisation is recruiting for both a Chairperson and members of the BMX Freestyle Park Commission, which will play an integral role in the initial development of the organisation's first long-term plan for the discipline later this year.

British Cycling’s Cycling Delivery Director, Dani Every, said:

“Being on one of our discipline commissions is an excellent way to demonstrate your passion for the sport and have a real impact on the way it is run, helping to shape our work both now and in the future.

“We want to welcome new members to provide us with a depth of knowledge and experience across each of the commissions, regardless of whether they are currently engaged in British Cycling activities and events.

"We hope that by attracting a range of voices we will be better equipped to meet the challenges we currently face and develop innovative ways to inspire new riders, coaches, volunteers and event organisers to get involved in the sport in the years ahead.”

Commissions typically meet twice a year, with more regular virtual catch-ups also taking place as we work through the current challenges presented by Covid-19. Members will occasionally be expected to contribute to debates and recommendations by e-mail. The deadline for applications is 23:59 on Sunday 11 April 2021. More information on how to apply can be found here.
