British Cycling is inviting nominations for the latest wave of inductees to its Hall of Fame.

The Hall of Fame - launched in 2009 - recognises those who have been instrumental in developing the sport, whether they’re a rider, coach, administrator or volunteer. The current 58 members will be added to during British Cycling’s International Gala Dinner, which will be held in October.

Submit nomination

Members of the public will again be able to nominate their cycling heroes, with nominations to be considered by the Hall of Fame Selection Panel, which will include three-time Olympic champion, Ed Clancy, and be chaired by British Cycling president, Bob Howden.

Howden said: “This year has already given us so much to celebrate and an Olympic year is also the time when we consider nominations for induction to our Hall of Fame. Nominees can include retired outstanding athletes or volunteers who have given exceptional service to our sport.

Three-time Olympic champion Ed Clancy will be on the selection panel

“We invite nominations at the end of each Olympic and Paralympic cycle, and on previous occasions we have been inundated with nominations, so we are looking forward to hearing those inspirational stories this time around.

“All inductees will be invited to join us at our International Gala Dinner, which will be a great celebration of all those involved in ensuring the continued strength of cycling in Britain.”

Nominations are now open until September 14, with members of the public invited to submit their nomination via email to carolineflatley@britishcycling.org.uk. The only stipulation is that any athletes must be retired to be considered as inductees.

The full Hall of Fame Selection Panel is Bob Howden, Ed Clancy, Tom Cary (The Telegraph), Carole Leigh and John Herety.
