Burgess Hill Tour de Weald Cyclosportive

2nd May 2010; Event Press Release

The Burgess Hill Tour de Weald Cyclosportive is the second event in the SRS Events 2010 Cyclosportive series. Priding itself in creating great cyclosportive events for different abilities, SRS Events has created four routes for riders to choose from on the TOUR de Weald Cyclosportive.

The Classic Ride 125 Miles
The Challenge Ride 100 Miles
The Tour Ride 65 miles
The Kermesse Ride 35 miles

You have to be a pretty serious cyclosportive rider to even think about tackling the Classic Ride as this is 125 miles long and with over 2290 meters of ascents, finishing this ride is a major accomplishment for any serious and accomplished cyclosportive rider.

The routes travel through the heart of the Weald area of Sussex and Kent and enjoy some lovely quiet roads ideal for cycling. Tough hills are scattered along all of the routes but in between the hills relatively fast rolling roads are available and excellent for helping prepare cyclist legs for the energy sapping assents to come.

Castle Hill being one of those energy sapping pain educing assents of the courses as the somewhat nasty gradient of this hill gets steeper and steeper the further you go up it. The Classic ride is obviously the the hardest ride within the Tour de Weald and it is regarded by many that have tested the circuit as the hardest Cyclosportive in the South East but if your legs aren’t up to the 125 mile distance, the Challenge Ride and Tour Ride offer those with maybe less endurance in their legs the chance to still push their abilities to the max.

All riders will be awarded either a Gold Silver & Bronze awards depending on what time they set for the route they do. Gaining a Gold award in any of the distances is a truly excellent ride. All the rides do offer Challenging terrain although The Kermesse Ride at 35 miles has been toned down considerably to make the ride as easy as possible for those that are just starting out on the addiction that is SRS Events cyclosportives.

Plenty of goodies during and at the end of the event from Sponsors such as SIS Science in Sport. And with Free Food and drink after your ride, certificates,Goody Bags and timing by Sportident this is another Cyclosportive event from SRS Events that should not be missed.

There is still time to enter although places are filling up fast so enter today. http://www.srs-events.cc
