'Porkpies & Potholes' CiCLE Challenge Rides

You have watched or seen the pictures of the country's best Elite riders battling the route of the International CiCLE Classic, so now try the worst parts of the course, and some others that could not be included in the route for yourself by riding the cyclo sportif version on Sunday 12th July.


Distances: 

Three distances are on offer; 30 kms for novices and families ( anyone can do it!) ; 100 kms for the more able; and a full 180 kms event for the most experienced and brave!

 

Starting and finishing at the King Edward VII Sports Centre , Burton Road, in conjunction with Melton Mowbray Rotary Club and supported by Melton Borough Council, the three CiCLE Challenges are offered for all ability ranges from novice to experienced cyclists.

  • Secure Parking
  • Changing facilities and showers
  • Rider numbers
  • Fully supported feeding stations offering energy bars & drinks, and fruit etc.
  • 'CiCLE Doctor' present at start and throughout for any mechanical problems
  • Following vehicle
  • Quiet country roads and tracks, following to a large part the course of the East Midlands International CiCLE Classic to be held on Sunday 26th April 2009
  • Off road sectors to make life 'interesting.'
  • Rotary Club barbecue on offer at the finish!!
