Wyre Forest Stinger

The second edition of the 'Stinger' sportives have a number of changes to enhance them, with reduced entry fees on the full and mini Stinger rides, a new HQ with free car parking, and some course tweeks following rider feedback.
Gone are the 3 fords, the climb of Shropshires highest road over Clee Hill comes in, and the Stinger section is even more challenging. The route keeps to its original inspiration based on the Ronde van Vlaanderen, with a flattish first half with nearly all the toughest climbs coming in the stinger section, which has 12 named and numbered, just like in Flanders.
For 2009 all 3 feed stops will be at village halls offering toilets, hot drinks and shelter, we are investing in new and better signage, food and drink will be at the new HQ pre and post event. Showers, toilets plus after ride massage as last year in the HQ, with first aid and mechanical help to hand.
Electronic timing, 2 broom wagons, and after event certificates plus photography further enhance the sportives, and again the top quality 'stinger' jerseys from Bio racer can be purchased on line or at the Sports club.

- Wyre Forest Stinger - 160km: 20GBP (25GBP on the day)
- Mini Stinger - 100km: 15GBP (20GBP on the day)
- Family Challenge - 25km: 10GBP (15GBP on the day)
