2014 is a unique year for the county of Essex and for all who cycle on her. The third stage of the Tour will head through many of the wonderfully bike friendly roads that we at SportiveUK cycle on a regular basis.

The Tour De Essex features a 42, 72, and 110 mile choice of routes that utilise many of the same spectacular roads as the Tour de France. These courses are winding and have been specifically designed to minimise stops, allowing those who take part to really get their average speeds up.

There are plenty of arrows to keep you on the right track as well as feed stops stocked with sweet and savoury snacks that will keep you going throughout the ride.

Just over one week after the Tour de' Essex the actual Tour de France will pass along many of the same roads you will have ridden on. You'll have a real insight into what the guys in the peloton are seeing and feeling.
