The organisers of the Blenheim Palace sportive have confirmed the route for their 2014 event.

The route follows close to that of the 2012 event with a handful of changes.

There will be two distances for riders – 60 miles and 100 miles. The course will not feature any major climbs (though the pull out of Charlton Abbots will be felt in the legs) but the profile features very little flat terrain - it rolls for almost the full distance.

Taking place on Sunday 17 August, the event starts at 8am in the stunning surrounds of Blenheim Palace, one of the UK’s iconic historic homes and then moves out into the glorious Cotswolds countryside travelling on very quiet back roads.

There will be two feed stations, stocked with a wide range of sweet and savoury foods. The sportive will feature way marked routes, full signage, electronic timing, marshals, mechanical support and everything expected from an event of this size.

Standard entry is £35. Entry and the full route are available at the official website.

There will also be a Family Fun Ride held within the grounds of Blenheim Palace on 17 August. Tickets for this are only available directly from Blenheim Palace. The Family Fun Ride will start at 10.30am when general entry to the Palace opens. Registration will start at 6.00am on the day of the event.
