After a busy spring and summer of top level cycle racing in the eastern region – with the Women’s Tour, a round of the city centre Tour Series and a visit from the Tour de France – what better way to start the main holiday season than with a chilled out, flexible sportive based at one of Norfolk’s finest stately homes?

The event headquarters is at Blickling Estate just outside the market town of Aylsham – which itself hosted a round of the Tour Series in 2013 – and is in the heart of a myriad of lanes and quiet roads just waiting to be explored.

The sportive is being supported by Cozens-Hardy solicitors, a company with strong sporting links and a commitment to get both individuals and businesses active and involved in local events and local charities.

Cozens-Hardy’s support has guaranteed that The Big C – Norfolk’s cancer charity – will receive a £3 donation from each entry and riders also have the option to raise further sponsorship if they wish.

Flexibility is offered in the format of the event – based on three 25 mile loops all starting and finishing at Blickling – riders decide on the day how many loops they wish to ride and can therefore cover 25, 50 or 75 miles. Returning to event HQ after each lap gives the chance to re-stock with food and drink – with specialist nutrition products supplied as part of the premium entry package - as well as catching up with friends and family who may have come along just to enjoy a day out at the estate.

Each loop will be individually timed and riders will be supported by mobile mechanics and a recovery vehicle if needed and a team of sports masseurs.

Back at event HQ there will be a range of food traders – all selling locally sourced foods and drinks – and plenty of room to enjoy a post-ride picnic in beautiful surroundings.

With easy access to the coast and many other attractions and plenty of holiday accommodation close by it makes perfect sense to make this event part of a longer weekend in Norfolk!
