Taunton Flyer | Get into sportives
Published:
25 April 2014

“With the inaugural Taunton Flyer Sportive scheduled for takeoff in less than a month, we thought you may like to know about some of the great things we have organised for our riders", said Event Director, Stewart Bergman.

ROUTES
The Taunton Flyer offers a choice of two routes, the Dakota (100km) or the Spitfire (54km). Electronic maps and GPS files for both routes are now available on Strava, Ride with GPS, Garmin Connect, ViewRanger, and British Cycling Mapping. For those without bike computers, you can download a cue sheet from Ride With GPS. Links to all of these can be found on the event website www.TauntonFlyer.com

MECHANICAL SUPPORT
Taunton based Ralph Colman Cycles are the official bike shop partner for the Taunton Flyer. They will be providing mechanical support at the event HQ and out on the routes. They will also have a stand at Taunton Racecourse for all your cycling essentials.

MEDALS AND T-SHIRTS
All finishers will receive custom made medals and t-shirts, designed by local illustrator, Joe Chisholm. "Last year Joe had been commissioned to do the artwork for the 'Dunkerswell War Stories' project. With the Taunton Flyer being themed around the same wartime airfields, he was the perfect man for the job", states Stewart.

SOMERSET COUNTY CRICKET CLUB
When you ride triumphantly over the finish line, Somerset County Cricket Club will have their team mascot, Stumpy, ready to welcome you back. There are also three members of the club taking part in the Dakota (100 km) route so give them a cheer if you spot them.
