Event: 6 April 2014

The second running of the Igloo Sportive from Chesterfield, Round 1 of the 2014 Dark and White Cycling Sportive Series is only a few weeks away on Sunday April 6.

This spring sportive, keeping clear of busy main roads wherever possible and making maximum use of beautiful quiet country lanes, principally explores the eastern fringes of the Peak District National Park.

Choice of two routes

Long | 130km with 2400m of ascent
The long loop initially heads northwards and passes on the western fringes of Sheffield and climbs over Hallam Moors to Bradfield thereafter it drops into the Hope Valley followed by some stunning riding through Eyam (the plague village) and Chatsworth Park before climbing the fearsome Rowsley Bar onto the Eastern Moors proper.

Short | 65km with 1350m of ascent
The shorter route initially follows the long route but then heads directly across from Longshaw to Eyam before re-joining the long route through Chatsworth Park and the ascent of Rowsley Bar.
