The cyclosportive has three routes, 180km, 114km and 36km encircling Milton Keynes and Northampton, taking in some of the best sights in Buckinghamshire, Bedfordshire and Northamptonshire.
This event is hosted in the beautiful market town of Stony Stratford, offering cyclists the opportunity to cycle in the beautiful countryside of Bucks, Beds and Northants on quiet country lanes and roads.
You will pass interesting and diverse scenery; rolling countryside, traditional market towns, villages and hamlets around the outskirts of Milton Keynes.
The event arena will be the market square in Stony Stratford, providing a very special backdrop and located only metres away from independent cycle shop Twenty3c. Event organisers are also working hard with local businesses to provide an array of high quality and interesting food and drink for you to enjoy.
All the routes will be timed by ‘Multisports Timing’ who promise to deliver some interesting splits on key climbs.
Organiser Peter Norton from Odyssey Sports Events, explained: “The concept for this event came after spending years riding in this area, training for Ironman triathlons. My longest rides went around both Milton Keynes and Northampton and passed through beautiful villages and countryside. Being a self-confessed bike-mad cycle nut, I can’t resist a browse in a bike shop, which led to a chance meeting with the owner of my local bike shop Twenty3c, Ceri. I explained my event ideas which fitted and timed perfectly with Twenty3c’s new shop launch. A simple case of being in the right place at the right time.
“We will be running a series of competitions, the first of which is three prizes offered by our partner and sports coaching specialists ‘Don’t Blink’. We will be offering three lucky individuals the chance to win these prizes from the first 100 entries from across all three ‘Escape From The City’ rides. The event is a must for any cyclosportive participant. This region has a massive cycling following with a number of club rides starting from Stony Stratford at the weekends. The routes from this location are excellent and we have tried to incorporate many of the best known routes into this event. The teams involved in organizing and supporting this event are all passionate about cycling and very experienced in providing exactly what you need before, during and after your ride.
