Cycle Together Sandrigham
Event: 23 June 2013

The charity Leonard Cheshire Disability has launched Cycle Together Sandringham, an inclusive cycle ride through Norfolk's quiet roads and picturesque villages.

Taking place on Sunday 23 June 2013, Cycle Together is brought to you by the organisers of the award winning Tri Together triathlon, and with support from local cyclists, Cycle Together Sandringham promises to be an exceptional cycle ride for all.

With four scenic routes to choose from, this event is perfect for people of all ages and abilities, from beginners to experienced sportive cyclists. Choose a 10 mile, 20 mile, 50 mile or 90 mile challenge with all routes starting and finishing at Park House Hotel on the historic Sandringham Estate.

The 10 and 20 mile routes are family friendly and ideal for disabled people who want to take part on handcycles, tandems, trikes or adapted cycles. The 50 mile and 90 mile routes in particular offer fast routes, while incorporating fairly challenging climbs towards and along the coastal roads.

Norfolk-born Paralympic gold medallist Jody Cundy, who gave up professional swimming to pursue his successful cycling career, says:

“I will never forget the day I tried cycling for the first time. I immediately fell in love with it and before I knew it I had broken my first record. I would encourage anyone to take up the sport; it’s fun, accessible for loads of people and a great way to keep fit.

"Leonard Cheshire Disability’s Cycle Together is a great idea, an opportunity for everyone – beginners and experienced cyclists alike – to get active in the beautiful grounds of Sandringham and raise money for the charity’s work with disabled people across the UK."

So why not sign up, get cycling and raise some funds for Leonard Cheshire Disability?

Entry costs just £15 for the 10/20 mile routes and £20 for the 50/90 mile routes with under 16’s accompanied by adults going free.  Every cyclist will receive a welcome pack with training and fundraising guides when they sign up.  Entry fees also cover free parking, fully sign-posted course, food and drink stations, bike mechanic, first aid, on-course support vehicles and refreshments on-site at start and finish.

All money raised, unless otherwise specified by the donor, will go to helping disabled guests and their carers enjoy a holiday at Park House, the unique Leonard Cheshire Disability respite hotel at Sandringham
