Velo29 events have joined with Altura, having grown quickly from a humble evening league in autumn 2010.
Velo29 bring three of the biggest sportives on the calendar, a round of the Premier Calendar and Elite Circuit Series and in the Stockton Cycling Festival a unique blend of all inclusive cycling across a three-day weekend.
Velo29 events is a company run by cyclists with a goal to bring to the roads of the UK some of the flavours of the big events they road in their own careers all over the World.
The explosion of cycling in the UK and the profile of events such as the Premier Calendar Series is pulling in big sponsors. Altura, suppliers of cycle clothing were keen to get involved and the Velo29-Altura partnership was formed.
Altura look to reach to all sectors of the market, from non-competitive riders, grass roots racers and the Elite.Velo29’s broad, all inclusive portfolio of events gives them this.
Richard Williamson, Event Director at Velo29 is very excited about the new partnership:
"As well as adding the weight of a huge already successful brand such as Altura to our name, it’s great to have a partner who are as motivated as we are to increase rider numbers and raise the profile of our events.
"Like Altura, we are always looking to reach to new areas of the market and especially if we can bring new people to cycling through our events. Our goal is to make our events accessible to everyone. You can ride the SkyRide as part of Stockton Cycling Festival, progress to a sportive, move up the distances and then with our support take the first steps into racing on a closed circuit Go-Race event. We call it our “pavement to podium” statement and Altura are absolute behind this model.
