The Wiggle Super Series is heading to the North East on the 22nd of July for the first ever Wiggle Northern Angle Sportive.

New for 2012 the Wiggle Northern Angel Sportive starts from Kirkley Hall near Ponteland in the stunning Northumberland countryside. From the moment you start riding – whichever of the three routes you choose to ride – you’ll be on quiet roads heading into the rather lovely Northumberland National Park.

Once you get to the spectacular Harwood Forest the 66-mile Fun route splits off and the Epic (92-mile) and Standard (80-mile) routes circumnavigate the breathtaking Simonside Hills, whose dramatic jagged peaks provide a constant presence. The Epic route splits off once more to take in an extra northerly loop towards Kirdland Forest.

Routes and Profiles

All three routes then rejoin and cross the awe inspiring Rayless Common, Corsenside Common, Troughend Common, Hareshaw Common and Chester Common. Organisers UK Cycling Events claim that "Riders will feel a sense of remoteness with virtually traffic free roads, but will have their senses constantly overloaded with the endless picture postcard views."

As with all Wiggle Super Series events you’ll get full rout markings, mechanical support, plenty of energy food and drink and the chance to try a Garmin Edge for the ride.
