Here's the latest from the organisers of south-west Wales' achingly beautiful Tour of Pembrokeshire.
Why not give our impressive ride through beautiful and scenic Pembrokeshire a go? We are working hard to ensure that all riders will not be disappointed with this ride and ensure that we continue with the positive feedback from the first two years.
The committee has already made significant progress in the planning for 2010. Whilst the two original routes will remain principally unaltered (still being a tour of Pembrokeshire), minor improvements will be made. We have also introduced an Intermediate Route of 82 miles, thus providing those who wish to make the transition from 63 miles to 117 miles with a stepping stone should they require it.
We are also pleased to announce that our start and finish areas will be at The Regency Hall, Saundersfoot. All facilities have already been reserved and, the community council and villagers are looking forward to welcoming you all, and creating a real village atmosphere as part of their annual events diary. Our main sponsor, Chevron, is also very supportive of this development, so between us all we aim to be able to create a unique experience.
In 2010 there will be one charge for all, thus hopefully allowing us to implement all of our exciting changes. I would like to re-emphasise that we are a "not for profit organisation". Subject to the retention of a working kitty, all monies are either spent on providing facilities or are donated to our nominated charity. Should the ride cease, all funds at that point (inclusive of the kitty) will be distributed as donations.
Our online entry is now open with a rider limit of 1,500. Early registration is recommended.
WHEN ENTERING PLEASE ENSURE THAT YOU ENROL TO RECEIVE OUR NEWSLETTERS. THIS IS OUR ONLY MEANS OF COMMUNICATION. INCLUDING THE FINAL JOINING INSTRUCTIONS WHICH WILL BE RELEASED IN EARLY JUNE.
This year we would like to develop an online community for riders who are new to the ride to interact with those who have experienced the thrill of the ride through beautiful Pembrokeshire in previous years. We have set up accounts with Facebook and Twitter, so please register or add us as friends to share experiences with fellow riders and to keep up to date with ride news and how the Tour of Pembrokeshire Team are progressing with planning the 2010 ride.
