Photo credit: www.takeyourpics.co.ukThe Sunday Sportive season wraps up in style this Sunday, with the final event of 2009 from Dunsfold Park in Surrey.

The aerodrome site is best known as the location of the Top Gear test track, but for the second year, bikes will be the vehicle of choice for the day, as the sportive course rolls out of the park and up through the Surrey Hills and North Downs. The 124km full course is ideal for the shortening autumn days, with mid and short route options catering to a full range of riders. All routes are fully signed, with maps provided and support vehicles and stations along the way.

The event caps a record year for the Sunday Sportives, with over 5,000 riders taking part throughout a season crowned by the sell-out, 1,500 strong Southern Sportive in September.

This weekends autumn outing from Dunsfold is the last before the series takes it's Winter break. 2010 is already in planning though and will launch in March with a brand new pre season event, followed by the Princes Risborough Sportive on April 25th.

Advance entry for this weekend's event (and news of future events) can be found online at www.southernsportive.com. Online entry closes at 5pm on Thursday. On the day entry will be available, pending advance demand; check the website on Thursday night for confirmation.
