Event: 11 May 2014

The 16th edition of the Bucks Off Road Sportive is now open for online registration for the event which is to be held on 11 May 2014.

The event which was inspired by club riders riding the popular Hell of the North Cotswolds, who decided to run an event starting in Buckinghamshire with the distances growing from the original 30km route to the current longest distance of 132km.

The headquarters is at the Chiltern sports and social club in Rickmansworth which allows riders to shower and make use of a fully licensed bar as well as a cheap supply of refreshments.

As the club wants to encompass all abilities this years event has four distances of approximately 35km, 75km, 100km and 132km.

The toughness of the 100 and 132 km events should not be underestimated, although the hills in the Chilterns are not as high as those in other parts of the country the constant undulating climbs certainly take their toll and the singletrack can be tough going in places.

Last year the trails were in excellent condition and some fast times were recorded and we are hopeful for similar conditions this year.

This event is not a race but a challenging ride with a mixture of bridleways and country lanes, each distance will have a set start time - so what are you waiting for? Round up your mates and get those entries in.

Entry on the day will be available subject to pre-entries and we strongly recommend you pre-enter to avoid disappointment.

There will be at least two feed stations stocked with cakes/bananas and other goodies as well as drink. As always each finisher will receive a free drink at the bar as they reminisce and tell their war stories as well as a free cup of tea and an event memento.

Check out the testimonials on the website to see the excellent feedback we received last year.

As always the event will be supporting the South Bucks Riding for the Disabled.

GPS files for the event will be loaded to www.bucksoffroadsportive.co.uk and sent to all entered riders the week preceding the ride.
