Celebrity Cyclists: Gary Kemp

We're always on the lookout for celebrity cyclists and there certainly seems to be a dearth of them at the moment. Well known cycling Mayor Boris Johnson was joined by Great British beauty Kelly Brook for Skyride London. And according to a recent interview with Gary Kemp, the Spandau Ballet singer has gone from 80s New Romantic to noughties sportiver.

Speaking to Cycling Weekly, Kemp revealed that he'd lost a stone since starting to ride and is now the proud owner of a Litespeed titanium bike and a carbon Colnago.

It's clear from Cycling Weekly's interview that Kemp has immersed himself fully in the culture of cycling:

"I am so addicted to this now that there isn't a road I drive on in my car where I am not thinking ‘this would be great on a bike'. I can hardly sleep the night before a ride because I am so excited.

Cycling has so much beautiful history. I have got a whole library of mountaineering books that I have been reading since I was a kid, and they have been pushed aside in favour of cycling books."
