National Ranking Points

Cross-Country and Downhill National ranking points are awarded to all affiliated events on a scale appropriate to the event. The top 40 riders in all categories receive points at NPS and National Championship events. The top 50 riders are awarded National ranking points for competing in World Cup, Olympics and World Championship. The top 15 riders in regional level events are awarded ranking points.

Ranking points are the points awarded in UCI and BC events. Standings relate to a particular series and may differ in the number of points awarded by BC. For Regional Championship races, the event will carry the same points as an NPS event.

Riders competing in UCI events outside of the UK, not a World Cup, can still have their results count towards their end of season ranking. BC will not seek your foreign results, you must inform BC membership services of the result and provide the event date and classification.

The ranking points are input at BC HQ by the results administrator they can be contacted at: results@britishcycling.org.uk or by calling 0161 274 2012. A rider's database will display all their results in the current year. The year runs from December 1st until November 30th.

The database writes back to the web site and shows the ranking points for each category. The database is updated on a daily basis and this will be reflected on the website. The "End of Year Rankings" is calculated using the rider's best 8 results. The remaining results stay on record and will show on the website. Category changes for riders are decided from the "End of Year Rankings".
