Scottish road champion James McCallum (Rapha Condor Sharp) added the circuit race title with a decisive sprint after 46 laps of fast action at the Lagoon Leisure Centre in Paisley.

The field had been whittled down to eight contenders in the final laps as the race went off at an average speed of just under 28mph, and 33-year-old McCallum produced the winning kick to edge out Davie Lines (Pedal Power Endura) on the line with a small gap to Andrew Whitehall (Equipe Velo Ecosse) in third.

Paisley 20-year-old Kayleigh Brogan (Team Ibis Cycles) also celebrated a title double, winning the women’s race in a bunch sprint to add to her Scottish road title at the main expense of French-based Claire Thomas (Asptt Dijon).
